About Sarah

Sarah Faux is a native of Oregon, and has been teaching piano in the Portland area for over 13 years.  She earned her Bachelors of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied composition with Elinor Armer. Sarah received her Masters of Science Teaching in Music from Portland State where she also worked as a graduate teaching assistant, helping with group piano classes and accompanying. She is a member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association.

Sarah is also a church organist, pianist, and cantor. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists. She was the music director at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Portland, OR, where she directed two adult choirs and one children’s choir. She has been the organist for Cantores in Ecclesia’s Children’s Choir. Sarah is familiar with several liturgical rites including the Novus Ordo Mass, the Tridentine Mass, the Dominican Rite Mass, and Holy Eucharist Rite II of the Episcopal Church. She is available as a substitute on Sundays, and for weddings and funerals. Please contact her directly for rates.
